This is a summary. To read the whole story subscribe to BostonGlobe.com

The town’s Recycling Committee is looking for new members. The group helps to oversee Tewksbury’s recycling program and encourage more households to participate. The committee meets once a month and conducts four events a year. No experience is needed to serve on the panel; the only requirement is an interest in promoting recycling. Applications are available on the town’s website, www.tewksbury.info, and can be submitted to the selectmen’s office. Meanwhile, Tuesday is the deadline to apply for scholarships the committee plans to award this spring to graduating seniors from Tewksbury. The scholarships, awarded each year, are for students planning to pursue higher education in a field related to the environment. Funds for the scholarships are awarded by Republic Services, the town’s trash hauler. Applications are available on the town’s website and the School Department’s website, www.tewksbury.k12.ma.us.
