Town hosts hazardous waste collection day

The town is holding a special household hazardous waste collection day April 12 from 9 1 p.m. at the Pembroke Recycling Center, 158 Hobomock St. The collection is open to town residents who have current recycling stickers. There is no charge. No commercial waste will be accepted. Items that can be dropped off range from drain cleaners to paint thinners, pool chemicals, oil-based paints, motor oil, and pesticides. Materials that will not be accepted include latex paint; radioactive, biological, and medical wastes; and tires. The town typically holds household hazardous waste collection days twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
