An individual suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot near the Fields Corner MBTA station on Friday afternoon, The Boston Globe reported.

The shooting took place underneath an overpass located behind an entrance to the station.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and Boston police were collaborating with MBTA officials to investigate the shooting.

The Boston Police spokeswoman told The Globe that she could confirm that it was a male victim, but could not confirm his age.
