A Scituate private investigator was charged Wednesday with stalking and making anonymous threatening phone calls to employees at the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, where he once worked. Joseph Allen, 53, allegedly stalked, harassed, and threatened two former and two current employees of the department for more than a year, said the office of Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley. At his arraignment in Boston Municipal Court, Allen was charged with three counts of threats to commit a crime, two counts of annoying or harassing telephone calls, two counts of criminal harassment, and one count of stalking. A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.
