Elementary students asked to help out

No act of kindness — no matter how small — is ever wasted,” the principal of the Lillian Jacobs Elementary School told students last week as the school kicked off its second annual “Service Weeks.” Starting last week and running through April 21, the school is asking students and their families to do something to give back to the community. Suggested activities included baking for seniors and cleaning local playgrounds. In her weekly newsletter, principal Jean Penta urged students to take photos of their volunteer acts to be part of a slide show later in the year.
