With the game on the line, Jen Johnson wants to see Jessica Roach orchestrating the attack for the University of Vermont women’s lacrosse team, the ball cradled in the webbing of her stick.
“Late in the game Jessica is the one trying to make something happen,” said Johnson, in her 10th year at the helm of the UVM program.
A 5-foot-6 junior attack from Scituate, Roach is third on the Catamounts with 28 goals and a team-high 15 assists. The 2011 graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Hingham has three game-winning goals and has collected 16 ground balls.
