Man attacked by seven near Boston Common, police say

Three men and a teenage girl have been arrested in an unprovoked attack on a pedestrian near Boston Common Friday, the second such random assault in the area in three nights, authorities said.

A group of seven people attacked a man wheeling a suitcase up Tremont Street toward Bromfield Street about 10:30 p.m. Friday, authorities said. The victim, who was not identified and was accompanied by a female companion, was punched in the face, knocked to the pavement, and then kicked by the juvenile while on the ground, police said.
