Woman found dead in Lowell home

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say the death of a woman found in her Lowell home over the weekend is considered suspicious.

Police responded to a call for medical assistance at the home of 52-year-old Elaine Sweeney in the city’s Pawtucketville neighborhood at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Sweeney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lowell police and the Middlesex district attorney’s office are investigating.

An autopsy, including toxicology, tests is being conducted on the body.
