Locals rallied on the Boston Common Thursday in support of the 276 schoolgirls that were kidnapped in Nigeria on April 15.
The rally was organized by members of the Nigerian community in the Boston area who wanted to continue raising awareness of the girls and the mass kidnapping. They also wanted to draw attention to the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram, which claimed responsibility for the abductions. Organizers said the rally was also a way to keep pressure on the Nigerian government, as well as the US and other world entities, to take meaningful action.
