MBTA Launches Weekend Ferry Service Between Hingham and Boston

The MBTA is launching a weekend commuter boat service between Hingham and Boston, The Boston Globe reports.

The service, which will run between May 24 and Columbus Day weekend, will make 14 round trips each Saturday and Sunday between Hingham and Boston's Long Wharf. The boats will also make stops at Hull, George's Island, and Logan Airport, according to MBTA general manager Beverly Scott.

One-way fares will be $16 from Logan Airport and $8 for all other one-way fares. There will be hourly departures from Hingham beginning at 8 a.m. and hourly departures from Boston beginning at 9 a.m. Two additional evening roundtrips are scheduled on Saturdays.
