Looks like Bostonians will have yet another way to easily get local, sustainable foods in their neighborhood.

The Boston Public Market Association is launching a new outdoor farmer’s market on May 19 on the plaza next to Haymarket along the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. The market will be open every Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until November 26.

The outdoor market encompasses only half of the experience. Vendors will also be located indoors above the Orange and Green lines at Haymarket T station. The indoor market will be open year-round.

The North End Regional Review reports:

The market is effectively two marketplaces in one: the indoor, year-round vending floor of about 45 permanent vendors, and the exterior market, which can accommodate up to 20 additional vendors on the plaza outside, who will lease temporary spaces by season or by month.

According to the Boston Public Market Association, the outdoor market will feature over 30 local vendors selling produce, meat, poultry, eggs; cheese and dairy products, fish, bread, baked goods, plants and flowers. Some vendors will also provide prepared foods packaged for a “grab-and-go” lunch.
