Ernest Wallace, an associate of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, pleaded not guilty Thursday while being arraigned on a new murder charge in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd last summer.
A Bristol County grand jury indicted Wallace in April 2013. Wallace appeared in superior court in Fall River Thursday afternoon to enter a plea.
NECN’s Kathryn Sotnik tweeted:
Wallace’s plea comes on the same day as new information was revealed that allegedly connects Hernandez to a July 2012 double homicide in Boston’s South End.
Hernandez has been indicted on two charges of first-degree murder in the killings of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado, who were shot to death on July 16, 2012, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley announced Thursday.
A hearing for Hernandez’s cousin Tanya Singleton also took place today in the same Fall River courtroom as Wallace. Singleton has been charged with contempt of court for refusing to testify in front of a grand jury investigating the double homicide. She is scheduled to face trial in August.
