Salisbury police said officers shot and killed a man who threatened them with a knife and machete Thursday. The deadly confrontation occurred after officers arrived to check reports of a domestic disturbance, according to The Boston Globe. Two others were injured in the ordeal.
During a news conference at the scene, Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said the 29-year-old male suspect drove straight into a responding police cruiser, intentionally causing a collision. Officers tried to disarm the man and tasered him before they shot and killed him, according to Blodgett.
A neighbor’s cell phone video, obtained by Fox25 Boston, shows police officers tasering the charging suspect. The video did show the officers firing their side arms, but four gunshots are clearly audible on the recording.
