Law enforcement teams converged on a motel in Saugus Friday morning after learning that a fugitive could potentially be at that location, according to the Saugus Police Department.

Saugus Police along with a North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT team arrived at the Ferns Motel at 152 Broadway and, after finding the suspect’s car in the parking lot, went into action.

Because the suspect was considered armed and dangerous, the SWAT team used an armored vehicle to approach the suspect’s room before ordering the room’s occupants to exit.

It was at that point that the suspect, Barry Troy, 51, of Boston, and Frank Moore, 28, of Canton, surrendered with no incident.

Troy was arrested and charged with probation violation.

Police said Moore, who was also arrested, had a warrant for outstanding driving violations, as well.

"This is a fine example of police teamwork resulting in justice served," said Saugus Police Chief Domenic DiMella. "Gloucester and Saugus police shared information, leading to the location of a wanted suspect, and the resources provided by NEMLEC ensured a quick arrest without incident or injury to officers or the suspects. I am proud of the work done today by Saugus Police and our partner agencies."
