Carlos Ortiz, an associate of former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez, was arraigned today in the 2013 shooting death of Odin Lloyd.

Ortiz pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the slaying of Lloyd, whose body was found near Hernandez’s North Attleborough home last June. He will continue to be held without bail, NECN reports.

Ortiz and another Hernandez associate, Ernest Wallace, were indicted last month on murder charges. Earlier this month, Wallace pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in Lloyd’s death.

According to The Boston Globe, Ortiz initially only faced illegal gun charges.

Hernandez, Ortiz, and Wallace allegedly picked up Lloyd at his Dorchester home early on June 17 and drove him to a North Attleborough industrial park, where Lloyd, 27, was shot multiple times in what prosecutors have called an execution.

Ortiz, who is from Hernandez’s hometown, Bristol, Conn., previously pleaded not guilty to an accessory charge, the Associated Press reports.

Ortiz's lawyer has previously called the murder indictment "totally ridiculous."

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Lloyd, who was dating Hernandez's fiancee?s sister.

Hernandez’s cousin Tanya Singleton, 38, also faces an accessory charge in Lloyd’s death.

Hernandez is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Suffolk Superior Court, where he will face two counts of first-degree murder in the 2012 double homicide of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado
