Witnesses described an apparent attack on a young teenager waiting with his grandmother on the platform on the Red Line’s Shawmut station to the Boston Globe Wednesday afternoon.
Police said a second stabbing victim was found nearby, but that it remained unclear whether the incidents are related:
Eliana Greenberg, 23, who works in the area and was in the station at the time of the attack, said the boys looked to be only about 14 years old. At first, she said, she thought they were trying to push each other onto the tracks at the end of the platform. "And then everyone was screaming," she said.
