It is jury selection day in the trial of two brothers who are accused of defrauding a Boston Marathon bombings charity. Juror Number 78 in the jury pool? None other than former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis.

NECN’s John Moroney was tweeting from the courtroom when Davis was excused from serving as a member of the jury in the trial.

Davis played a key role in the Boston Marathon bombings investigation that led to the arrest of bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. In October of last year, Davis resigned and became a security expert on local CBS affiliate WBZ-TV.
