Southwest Plane Backs Into JetBlue Plane at Logan Airport

Two planes on the ground at Logan Airport collided when a Southwest plane backed up and hit a JetBlue plane.

The Associated Press reported that it happened just after 7 a.m. when a Southwest Boeing 737 headed for Kansas City began backing out of its gate. The plane’s left wingtip hit the “right horizontal stabilizer” of the JetBlue plane.

The Southwest plane’s wing sustained some damage. The Boston Globe reported that the JetBlue plane was unharmed.

No injuries have been reported and Massport spokesperson Matthew Brelis told the AP that there was no impact on airport operations. The Federal Aviation Administration is aware of the incident and it is now under investigation.
