A female suspect is in custody this morning after a three-alarm fire on Haverhill Street in Lawrence, police said.
The woman allegedly stabbed another woman and set the house on fire, Lawrence Police said via Twitter.
The fire broke out at 638 Haverhill Street. Neighbors said the incident started from a domestic dispute, The Eagle-Tribune reports.
A neighbor told WBZ that the victim could be heard screaming.
“She was screaming outside, ‘I’m stabbed, I’m stabbed,’” the neighbor said.
According to NECN, police have been called to the apartment 13 times since August, and an acquaintance of the victim said the two women have been fighting over the past year.
The suspect, 34-year-old Yohanna Estrella, was charged with arson of a dwelling, assault and batter of a household member, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, and assault with intent to commit murder.
Neighbors said two dogs did not make it out of the fire, according to the NECN report. The building housed at least three families and the displaced residents are being assisted by the Red Cross.
