Second Pedestrian Dies Following Back Bay Crash

Jessica Campbell, 27 and Jack Lanzillotti, 28, were walking near the corner of Beacon and Fairfield streets when they were both hit by a car on Saturday night. Lanzilloti was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said today that Campbell died from injuries suffered in the crash as well.

A second person has died from injuries sustained at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Beacon and Fairfield streets last night, according to The Boston Globe. Boston Police Spokeswoman Rachel McGuire confirmed to The Globe:

“One pedestrian, identified as 28-year-old John Lanzillotti, was pronounced dead on the scene. The other, 27-year-old Jessica Campbell was critically injured and was treated at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, McGuire said, before succumbing to her injuries.”

Both victims were from Brookline, according to the Globe report.

Just after 9 p.m. on Saturday two vehicles collided in the intersection and one rolled over, striking the pedestrians. Two car passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were brought to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for treatment.
