Man Accused in Arnold Arboretum Sexual Assault Arraigned

Ashton Davis, 23, pleaded not guilty to charges that he raped a woman at knifepoint at the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain on Wednesday.

The Boston Globe reported that Davis was arrested overnight before appearing in West Roxbury Municipal Court for his arraignment. He was connected to the alleged attack by data from a GPS bracelet he was wearing as the result of an earlier rape charge.

According to The Globe: “In the earlier case, Davis had been held on $25,000 bail, but that had been reduced to personal recognizance, with the requirement that he wear a GPS bracelet.”
