Another Independence Day, another standard holiday fireworks display.
Or is it.
If you’re bored with conventional, fly-in-the-air-and-go-boom brand of fireworks, why not try this colorful footage of a New Year Eve’s display—in reverse?
The video, with over 1.4 million views on YouTube, was shot by user Julian Tay, and features footage from the 2012 New Years Eve fireworks over Melbourne, Australia.
“Was curious to see what fireworks would look like if I played it backwards,” he explains on his blog. “Turns out, it looks pretty awesome.”
If you find the reversal too jarring, don’t worry—the footage starts playing normally around 1:35.Caesar can be reached at Christopher.Caesar@globe.com or via Twitter @ChrisCaesar.
