Shanna Shaw, the MBTA bus driver who lost her job and driver’s license after she drove her bus off the road in Newton in May, won’t be driving any time soon.

Shaw asked the Division of Insurance Board of Appeal last week to reinstate her driver’s license so she could run errands for her children and drive to her new job, but a state board has ruled that her driving privileges will not be reinstated, The Boston Globe reports.

Shaw was allegedly using her cell phone when her bus hit the guardrail of a Newton overpass on May 18, leaving the vehicle dangling over the Massachusetts Turnpike.

The state board’s decision is probably for the best: In the last 10 years, Shaw has been in at least three at-fault accidents and has been cited for speeding, seat-belt violations, improper passing, and failure to stop, according to RMV records.
