Bourne Man Seriously Injured in Alleged Samurai Sword Attack

A man reportedly wielding a nearly 3 foot samurai sword attacked a man at a residence on Shore Road in Bourne, Massachusetts Sunday (07-27-14) morning around 2:00 PM. The unidentified victim suffered serious injuries and was transported by MedFlight helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital. An unidentified male was taken into police custody at the scene. A 39-year-old Bourne man was seriously injured Sunday morning after he was allegedly repeatedly stabbed by a man armed with a samurai sword.

Officers responded to the scene at 355 Shore Rd. around 1:35 a.m., where the victim told officers he had been attacked and that his assailant was still on the property.

Authorities have not yet named the 28-year-old man arrested in the attack and took a three-foot-long samurai sword into custody, Cape Cod Today reports.

The victim was briefly transported to State Police barracks and later taken via helicopter to a Rhode Island hospital.

Detectives continue to investigate.
