First responders from several local and state agencies discovered a body in the Charles River Thursday night after a person reportedly jumped from the Longfellow Bridge.
Marine units and dive teams from several agencies were called into service to check the waters around the bridge. The State Police also sent a helicopter to help in the search. The body of a person was discovered in the water after 10:30 p.m..
The initial call of a jumper came in at 8:25 p.m., according to Boston Fire.
Officials initially closed the bridge to all traffic, but re-opened the span by 9:40 p.m..
