Tweet Leads to Alleged Bedford Bank Robber’s Arrest

Bedford Police have arrested a man they say robbed the Bank of America branch on The Great Road within three hours of the incident after a tipster tweeted information that aparently solved the case, WBZ-TV reports.

Police arrested Joseph Barrett, 45, of Dorchester, was arrested at his work in Bedford and charged with one count of armed robbery. According to police, Barrett walked into the bank around noon on Monday, told the teller he had a gun and demanded money. Barrett, who made no attempt to disguise himself, was captured on surveillance camera.

Barrett is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Concord District Court.
