Police say a 32-year-old Melrose man has been charged in connection with an alleged carjacking and kidnapping that took place in Revere earlier this month, bringing to an end nearly two weeks of searching for a suspect after two men allegedly stole a car with a teen boy inside in order to avoid paying a cab fare.

CBS Boston reported that Robert Consolo was originally placed under arrest in East Boston for an unrelated reason before police identified him as a suspect in the Revere incident. The other man allegedly involved has not yet been identified.

According to The Boston Globe, Consolo will face several charges, including kidnapping, larceny of a motor vehicle, and fare evasion. A report from WCVB said he is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
