A former Tufts Health Care employee pleaded guilty today to charges she stole the personal information of thousands of customers.

Emeline Lubin, 27, could serve up to five years in prison with three years of supervised release, and could face a fine of up to $250,000 or twice the amount she gained if it is greater.

Lubin started working in the Watertown office of Tufts Health Plan in 2010, where she passed on personal information to a Florida man involved in fraudulently collecting tax returns.
