Arlington Police, the Massachusetts State Police and the Attorney General’s office traced an alleged child pornographer through his social media accounts. Zachary Monte, 27, of Arlington was arrested by police and charged with possession of child pornography on Thursday night.

According to Arlington Police, Monte’s location was traced by the AG’s office using his social media activity. They followed the account to an IP address on Renfrew Street, where Monte lives.

“This was a good example of inter-agency cooperation, which today resulted in the apprehension of a suspect whose alleged online activity contributed to the exploitation of children,” Chief Ryan said in a statement released late Thursday night.

Police searched Monte’s home and his computer, though they did not say what, if anything, was found on the premises.
