Governor Mitt Romney today will issue a proclamation declaring May 20, 2004, as Colombo Yogurt's 75th anniversary. The company claims to have introduced yogurt to the United States, from the Andover farm where Rose Colombosian used a family recipe from her native Armenia. The company was acquired by General Mills Inc. in 1993, but maintains a Methuen plant that serves the Northeast.

The Stoneham Chamber of Commerce and Eastern Bank will host the spring Women in Business meeting featuring Oldies 103.3 F.M. radio personality June Knight on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Eastern Bank, 441 Main St. in Melrose. Next Wednesday from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Courtyard Marriott in Woburn, the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Business is Brewin' Breakfast. Intranets.com of Woburn won the Stevie Award for Best Company Turnaround, an honor presented at the 2004 American Business Awards Ceremony. The American Business Awards are a national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace. Intranets.com is one of the largest paid subscription services on the web.

Dr. Alan C. Woodward, chief of emergency services at Emerson Hospital in Concord, was elected president of the Massachusetts Medical Society. He will serve a one-year term as president of the statewide organization, which represents more than 18,000 physicians and medical students throughout Massachusetts. For the last year, he served the organization as president-elect and prior to that as vice president.

John P. Stabile II of Nashua joined the board of trustees of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua Charitable Foundation, an endowment fund to support Greater Nashua's youth.

Mark J. O'Hara of Acton received the TAC Worldwide President's Excellence Award, recognizing his commitment and leadership at one of the largest privately held technical staffing companies in the country. As director of business development in TAC Worldwide's Dedham office, O'Hara helped his team achieve breakthrough sales in 2003.

Sullivan Tire Corp. opened its latest store in Bedford, N.H., at 397 South River Road. It is the 10th Sullivan Tire Store in the state and the 53d in New England.
