Boston cites store owner for posting 'Go Bush' sign across from FleetCenter

Mark Pasquale for 23 years has operated the Halftime Pizza shop across street from the Fleet Center.

This week Pasquale made it very clear he was unhappy over all the traffic restrictions being imposed in the area of the Fleet Center during the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

He not only announced he was going to close his shop all next week because it would not be worthwhile keeping it open, but he also put up a big banner across the front of the shop which read:

''Say !!! D.N.C. Thanks for Nothing," and in between two American Flags he posted the words ''GO BUSH.''

His actions got immediate media attention and last night it also got attention from city officials.

Both WCVB-TV and WBZ Radio News are reporting today that the city building inspector has told him to remove the sign or face a fine. WCVB said the inspector told Pasquale he had failed to get a permit to put up such a sign.

Pasquale has responded that he is going to go ahead and go golfing in Canada next week and that the banner is not coming down.

He told WCVB he would rather pay the fine.

This afternoon was report on WBZ Radio News revealed the American Civil Liberties Union was questioning the action city officials were taken ,
