Quiz for the candidate

Pop quiz for Mr. Big.

Q. What is the mayor's wife's name?

''I just read an article about her. . . . It's funny, I can see her face, I'm just blanking on her name."

(Angela Menino)

Q. How many free sports tickets are city councilors entitled to each year?

A. ''I believe the answer is zero." McCrea already owns Red Sox season tickets that he estimates are worth $10,000, so he wouldn't be tempted, he said.

(The state Ethics Commission ruled in January 2003 that public officials may not use their official position to get hard-to-come-by tickets, even if they pay face value. Before the ruling, Council President Michael F. Flaherty and councilors Michael Ross and John M. Tobin Jr. got tickets from a pool set aside by the Red Sox for VIPs.)

Q. What is the maximum number of inches from the curb that a motorcycle is allowed to be parked in the city of Boston?

A. ''Three feet."

(Motorcycles must be parked with both wheels no more than 12 inches from the curb.)

''That's ridiculous," McCrea said. Still, he wouldn't change the law if elected. ''I have much more important issues to deal with."

Q. How many pieces of legislation passed by the City Council and signed by the mayor last year can you describe?

A. ''I have no idea. I've read the city councilors' websites. I believe they've filed an ordinance to deal with the blight of abandoned shopping carts," McCrea said with a chuckle.

(There were 25 pieces of legislation passed and signed, including measures to muzzle dangerous dogs, move cigarette products off store counters, and impound cars of prostitutes' customers. The shopping cart ordinance was passed in 2003.)

Q. How much is the city's budget?

A. $1.9 billion.

($1.92 billion)

Q. How much is a city councilor's annual salary?

A. $75,000

($75,000)

Q. How much revenue did your company earn last year?

A. More than $1 million.

(McCrea would not say the exact amount.)
