Hundreds of mourners packed St. Peter's Church in Plymouth this morning to pay their respects to Rachel Entwistle and her baby daughter.
Entwistle, a 27-year-old teacher, and 9-month-old Lillian were found shot to death Jan. 22 in their Hopkinton home, laying together in the master bedroom bed. In the same church where Lillian was baptized seven weeks ago, mother and daughter lay in the same casket near the altar for the funeral Mass.
Rachel Entwistle was remembered as "a true friend," a fan of Henry David Thoreau, and a lover of nature during a reserved Mass in the Roman Catholic tradition.
There was no mention of Neil Entwistle -- Rachel's husband, Lillian's father, and a "person of interest" in the investigation -- and he didn't appear to be in attendance.
Neil Entwistle, 27, who was on a passenger list for a flight leaving Boston for England on Jan. 21, is apparently in seclusion with his family in England. A source with direct knowledge of the investigation has told the Globe that he declined to talk last week to Massachusetts investigators who flew to England to interview him.
After the mass, a procession of dozens of cars wended its way about
five miles to Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston, where Rachel and Lillian
Entwistle were laid to rest.![]()
