Recent departures

Officials who have resigned from the Romney administration in the past year:

Douglas I. Foy, secretary of commonwealth development, announced his resignation yesterday. He was the first person appointed to the newly created post.

Edward A. Flynn said this month he would leave as public safety secretary, a position he has held since 2003, to become police commissioner in Springfield.

Beth Lindstrom, the state's consumer affairs director, resigned Feb. 10 to consider a run for state treasurer. She had been in the job since 2003.

Peter J. Quinn, chief technology adviser, resigned Dec. 27. He had headed the informational technology division since 2002.

Kimberly Hinden, registrar of motor vehicles, resigned Nov. 17. In 2002, she became the first female registrar.

Eric A. Kriss, secretary of administration and finance, resigned Oct. 1, after serving since 2002.

Ellen Roy Herzfelder, secretary of environmental affairs, resigned in July. She was appointed in 2003.

Ronald P. Preston, secretary of health and human services, resigned in May after serving since 2002.

Shawn Feddeman, press secretary, resigned in April to pursue private-sector opportunities.
