ENID, Okla. -- A US Army soldier with Massachusetts ties will be buried in his hometown in Oklahoma despite his wife's wish to have him buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
Staff Sergeant Clint Storey died Aug. 4 from a roadside bomb.
His wife, who lives in Palmer , said he told her before he left for Iraq that should he die there, he wanted to be buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
But Storey's mother said that before her son deployed, he signed military papers that left her in charge should he be killed. She said Storey wanted to be buried in his hometown of Enid .
No date has been set for the burial.
Storey and his wife, Melissa, have a 4-year-old daughter and a baby on the way.
A memorial service in Palmer is set for Aug. 26.
