A man was seriously injured yesterday afternoon when he was shot repeatedly inside a multi family home in Dorchester. The man, whom police would not identify, was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries at about 2:40 p.m., police said. The shooting occurred at Leroy Street. Neighbors said the victim was a middle-aged man who lived with his son. Police had not made an arrest in the shooting last night and would not comment on suspects.

Arrest follows chase on I-95
A Woburn man was arrested last night, accused of attempting to run over a Cambridge police officer. The man, who was not identified by police, was pursued by police from Cambridge to Woburn via Interstate 95, Woburn police said. The man exited I-95 in Woburn and drove at between 30 and 40 miles per hour toward his home, where he was arrested at about 8 p.m. after a short foot chase. Highway hit-and-run injures 2
State Police yesterday were investigating a hit-and-run car accident on Route 128 that left two people hospitalized with injuries. After receiving reports of people lying in the roadway, firefighters from Canton and Westwood responded about 5 a.m. and transported Jeffrey Cornielle, 28, of South Easton and Emilia Ribera, 18, of Boston to area hospitals. Body of missing man, 23, found
The body of a 23-year-old Hamilton man who went missing early Saturday was found last night in the waters off the Fairhaven shoreline. A New Bedford police boat recovered the body of John Pike in the Sconticut Neck area near Buzzards Bay at about 7 p.m ., not far from where he attended a party Friday night, officials said. The death appeared to be accidental, but officials are still investigating, said Gregg Miliote of the Bristol district attorney's office. Man kills himself after chase
Investigators yesterday learned the identity of a 25-year-old Mattapan man who turned a handgun on himself after a foot chase by police Saturday evening, prosecutors said. Officials in the Suffolk district attorney's office declined to release his name, citing department policy. The man fled after police on Route 16 stopped a car in which he was a passenger. Revere police and state troopers chased the man to train tracks near the Beachmont MBTA station, prosecutors said. Coast Guard rescues 4 people
The Coast Guard rescued four people after two canoes capsized in the Merrimack River Saturday evening. A Coast Guard vessel responded to the area near Joppa Flats after receiving calls about boaters struggling against the current. Coast Guard Petty Officer Etta Smith said one canoe capsized due to strong winds on the river, and the other flipped after its paddlers attempted to help their friends. The Coast Guard pulled all four from the water; none were wearing life jackets.
