How the buildings were relocated

During the past weeks, Guy Davis and his crew:

Reinforced the insides of the houses.

Inserted steel beams under them.

Raised the houses, as much as 3 feet, with a hydraulic system.

Rolled the houses sideways off their brick and concrete foundations.

Placed the houses on hydraulic dollies.

Rolled the buildings into the street using a high-tech steering system.

Placed them on their new site two blocks away.
