BOSTON—It's a question most nursing moms have to face sooner or later -- whether or not to breast-feed in public.
Advocates are pushing the Legislature's Judiciary Committee to support legal protections for mothers nursing infants in public areas.
Supporters say Massachusetts is one of just four states without a law specifically protecting and promoting a woman's right to breast-feed.
They point to incidents such as when a woman was ordered off a plane in 2006 for openly breast-feeding her daughter and refusing a blanket from a flight attendant.
Others, including some restaurant owners, say they like the freedom to set their own guidelines when dealing with customers.![]()
