Funkhouser will be reading from her fifth collection of poems, "Earthly," at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Flint Memorial Library, 147 Park St. On Thursday at 7 p.m., John Rogers of the Union of Concerned Scientists continues the global theme when he addresses "Climate Change in the Northeast: What It Could Mean for North Reading and What We Can Do About It." Both events are free. 978-664-4942.

This over-21 event will feature wine and beer tastings, hors d'oeuvres, live music, and art works by members of the Andover Artists Guild. $12-$15. northparish.org, 978-475-5924.
