ATTLEBORO, Mass.—State highway officials ordered emergency repairs on Interstate 95 North in Attleboro after chunks of concrete fell from an overpass and landed on a street below.

State police say a "very large pothole" opened up on Monday in the right travel lane of the highway. That lane and the breakdown lane were closed to traffic while emergency repairs were made.

Officials say concrete fell on to North Ave., which runs beneath the overpass. No was injured and there were no reports of any property damage.

A spokesman for the state transportation office says a repair crew had recently been doing pothole work in the area where the new pothole opened up.
