A history of neglect

The state Department of Social Services received complaints about child abuse or neglect in 12 separate instances since 1995 and had legally removed children from the home of Anna Reisopoulos in 2003. But the children continued to live with her, neighbors, friends and school officials said — and DSS continued to receive reports of neglect.

Two of her children, 14-year-old Acia Johnson and three-year-old Sophia Johnson, died in an arson blaze Sunday in Reisopoulos' South Boston home.
