FITCHBURG—A 20-year-old Fitchburg man was ordered held without bail after being accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend with a gunshot through a living room window.

Andrew Jacob was arraigned Friday in Fitchburg District Court, where he pleaded not guilty to murder and resisting arrest.

Prosecutors say Jacob fired the shot into his girlfriend's Fitchburg residence at about 10:20 p.m. Thursday, hitting 18-year-old Alex Cintron of Fitchburg in the chest. Cintron died later Thursday at Leominster Hospital.

Worcester dictrict attorney spokesman Tim Connolly said Jacob fathered an 11-month child with Cintron's girlfriend. The baby wasn't home at the time of the shooting.

Police arrested Jacob at about 6:25 Friday morning.
