Boy poisoned by carbon monoxide released from hospital
LUNENBERG, Mass.—An 11-year-old boy who suffered carbon monoxide poisoning while four-wheeling with his father has been released from the hospital, two days after a second boy died.
Jobanny Matias, of Leominister, was released from Massachusetts General Hospital on Tuesday. Matias and 9-year-old Alejandro Thomasian, of Fitchburg, were hurt Friday while four-wheeling with their fathers and another man in the woods in Lunenberg.
Thomasian died Sunday of an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.
Authorities said the children were overcome by carbon monoxide in a Jeep Cherokee that became stuck in the mud. The children stayed in the Jeep to keep warm and were later found unconscious by adults who were trying to free the SUV.![]()
