Gas back for about 75 percent of affected Boston customers
BOSTON—National Grid has restored service to about 300 out of 400 customers who lost natural gas service following a city water main break last weekend.
The gas distribution system for Boston's North End and downtown financial district was flooded when the water main break on Saturday also broke a major gas line.
The company said about 75 percent of businesses and residents had service restored by late Wednesday.
National Grid opened a customer service center earlier Wednesday at City Hall to help people get information and submit claims related to the outage. Staff from the city's water and sewer commission also were assisting.![]()
