Gov. forced to take sick day, cancels all events
BOSTON—Gov. Deval Patrick has been forced to cancel all his appearances after being hit with the flu.
The governor's office says it will try to send people in Patrick's place for a busy day of stops around the state Wednesday. This is the first sick day the Democrat has taken since being sworn into office in January 2007.
Patrick was supposed to start the day at the ABA World Justice Conference in Boston, then attend a legislative leadership meeting at the Statehouse.
In the afternoon, he was scheduled to attend the New England Women in Real Estate annual meeting in Boston, before heading to central Massachusetts for economic development announcements in Fitchburg and Athol.![]()
