Man accused of killing roommate in Chicopee
CHICOPEE, Mass. --A 56-year-old Chicopee man has been charged with killing his roommate with a baseball bat.
Police say Marion Szlachta was arrested Wednesday along the banks of the Connecticut River following a tip from a citizen. He will be arraigned Thursday in Chicopee District Court for murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police Chief John Ferraro says 43-year-old Randy Maleski was found dead in his home. He had suffered blunt force trauma.
The victim and the suspect both lived in the house.
Ferraro would not comment on a motive for the crime.
