College hires former FBI agent

BOSTON --Cambridge College has hired a former FBI agent to investigate who is responsible for writing and circulating a mock newspaper that criticizes college leadership and suggests the school is on the verge of financial ruin.

The paper, called the "Cambridge College Chronicle," was sent last month in official college envelopes to some faculty and trustees and donors.

Chancellor Eileen Brown denies the publication's accusations and say the college is not in debt.

Trustees Chairman Jonathan Larsen wrote in a letter to the college community that the contentions in the paper are false.

Larsen says the former FBI agent began investigating last week.

Humanities professor John Bremer says the college is overreacting. He says Brown and Larsen run the college with "fear and intimidation."
