BOSTON—The Governor's Council has voted unanimously to confirm the nomination of the chairwoman of the Massachusetts Parole Board as a judge in the Eastern Hampshire District Court.

On July 11, Gov. Deval Patrick nominated Maureen Walsh of Deerfield to succeed the late Judge Edwin Dunphy.

The council voted 6-0 Wednesday to endorse the nomination. Spokeswoman Rebecca Deusser says no date has been set for Walsh's swearing-in.

The 41-year-old Walsh is a graduate of both the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the Western New England College School of Law.

She recently served as president of the Hampshire County Bar Association, as well as co-chair of the Governor's Commission on Criminal Justice Reform.
