Kerry to address Democratic Convention Wednesday
BOSTON --Sen. John Kerry has joined the roster of speakers at next week's Democratic National Convention in Denver.
The party's 2004 presidential nominee will address the delegates on Wed., Aug. 27, during a segment focused on securing the country's future. Others making remarks include former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, Rhode Island Sen. Jack Reed and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.
Kerry will be speaking a night after Hillary Rodham Clinton, whom Barack Obama defeated for this year's Democratic nomination, and the same night as her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
Four years ago, Kerry was the focus of the convention, delivering the final speech as the presidential nominee. In a reversal, he tapped Obama to deliver the 2004 convention's keynote address.
