WAKEFIELD, Mass.—Wakefield police are trying to find a driver who struck and killed a Melrose woman, then fled the scene.

Police say 44-year-old Susan Harmon was struck by a car while walking along Greenwood Street near the Melrose line at about 9 p.m. on Monday.

Witnesses told police that Harmon was hit by a green or tan Audi with darkened windows, and that the car fled north on Greenwood. Police were still searching for the car on Wednesday.

Harmon was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
